Discover the SBI Method

Designed for families and educators, the SBI Method bridges the gap between intention and action in children and teens with ADHD, ASD, or executive-function challenges, offering practical tools to support daily life and foster independence.

The story behind SBI

It all began with a simple schedule.
A parent I worked with created a daily routine for their child with ADHD, hoping to build independence and
structure. But no matter how hard they tried, their child resisted it.

When they brought the schedule to a session, the problem was obvious: it was written in tiny handwriting on
a small sheet of paper: hard to read, overwhelming, and impossible for the child to follow.

That was the moment I realized something important: parents don’t just need strategies: they need clear,
practical guidance on how to put those strategies into action.

This realization became the foundation of the SBI Method.

Why parents choose SBI

If your child has ADHD, Autism, anxiety, or executive functioning challenges, you’ve probably received
lots of advice from teachers, professionals, or the internet. But here’s the truth:

  • Knowing what to do is not the same as knowing how to do it.

  • Even with the best advice, implementing strategies at home can feel overwhelming.

  • Maintaining these strategies long-term can be an even bigger challenge.

The SBI Method was created to bridge this gap: helping parents turn theory into daily practice.

"Rohan was diagnosed with autism quite late, at the age of 10. He was becoming difficult to motivate and behave well in certain social situations. The method helped us to understand his anxieties and how to manage them. We too have managed our expectations and as a result the whole family is balanced and happy. We no longer have to say no to our youngest son because Rohan can't cope. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the positive family dynamic.

I would not hesitate to recommend this to anybody who wants an introduction and then positive steps on how to handle anxiety in children."

Rohan's father

"The SBI Method really changed our life as a family. My son Lucas was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when he was seven years old. He suffered from a lot of anxiety that ended affecting everyone in our household, including his younger brother.

The method really helped him to be at ease, knowing what to do and what to expect almost at all times"

Lucas' mother

I was initially introduced to the SBI Method by Dr Bruhl, when preparing for a school
trip. Due to the success of the method whilst on the trip, I incorporated it into more of
my daily school life. It added clear structure, incentives and sanctions for my desired
behaviour within the classroom and outside of it. Once familiar with the system my student responded well, rarely arguing against the rules laid out. The visual elements enabled my student to have a clearer understanding and to access the method. I had
to be consistent in my approach and expectations and the SBI method enforced this.
The system, once explained, was clear and easy to use. Once I had a base of
resources it was easy to adapt and change as I used it. The system adds clarity and consistency in what can be otherwise very difficult scenarios and situations. It
enables both you and your students to be on the same page and have a clear
understanding. The SBI Method creates a clear communication pathway of what is or isn’t acceptable and includes incentives to encourage the preferred outcome whilst also detailing the sanctions if this is not reached. Dr Bruhl was clear in her explanation and gave clear examples of how it should be used. It is definitely
something I will continue to use and highly recommend.
